SOUTH UNION ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
—We believe it's more than just a game

Who are we?
Built for the Community
At South Union Athletic Association, our mission is to provide a safe and productive environment where children can grow through the values of teamwork, discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship. For over 30 years, we’ve proudly served the youth of Union County, North Carolina, offering a place where boys and girls can learn the game while developing strength, character, and confidence that lasts a lifetime.
As a nonprofit organization, the support from our sponsors is crucial to the success of our programs. Their generosity allows us to provide quality equipment, maintain our facilities, and keep participation affordable for all families. Thank you to all of our sponsors for helping us make a positive impact on the youth in our community.
Our league is more than just youth sports — it’s a movement of pride, unity, and opportunity that extends far beyond the field. We believe in creating pathways for players of all ages and skill levels to grow, improve, and reach their potential. At the same time, we give fans a reason to come together, celebrate victories, and share unforgettable moments. Every matchday is a showcase of talent and passion, but it’s also about strengthening the connections that tie our community together.
What are we?
OUR PROGRAMS
Our programs are the heart of the community—bringing athletes together to learn, compete, and grow.
SPRING AND FALL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL
We provide baseball and softball during both the spring and fall seasons. The spring season generally spans from March to June, while the fall season typically occurs from late August to October. Our baseball teams compete in the Union County Cal Ripken league, and our softball teams participate in the District 4 Dixie Softball league. Both leagues focus on teaching the game while fostering a fun, safe environment for families to come together. Practices and games are scheduled throughout the week and on Saturdays.
WINTER BASKETBALL AND CHEER
In the winter months, we provide opportunities for both basketball and cheerleading. From November to February, we focus our efforts on the court, aiming to improve as coaches and athletes. Our programs cater to various age groups, from 5U to 13U, and we compete in the Union County Basketball League. Throughout the regular season, practices are held during the week while games take place on Saturdays. Cheerleaders also practice during the week and showcase their skills during the scheduled games on Saturdays.
SPONSORS
